How Do I Get Started And What Can I Expect? Minimize

Entering into a counseling relationship can be intimidating if you don't know what to expect.

Here's what to expect at wellspring:

  1. Know what we do...We provide counseling and coaching to individuals, families, and groups of all ages, addressing a variety of issues. our Services cover various concerns: academic, career, relationship, drugs and alcohol, anger, and more. Call for a complete listing of services.
  2. Know who we are...WellSpring, has specialized in professional, Christian counseling since 1992. We have expanded our services since that time as demands have increased to become a comprehensive private practice with over 30 therapists and locations around central Ohio.
  3. Call WellSpring. Our intake staff will be glad to answer any questions you may have. If you wish to obtain services at that time, you can expect to answer a few questions so that you can be paired with a counselor who is right for you. Some of these questions may be: name, phone, brief explanation of your counseling concern, gender preference of counselor, payment method/ability. In return, our staff will pair you with an appropriate therapist who will contact you within 48 hours after your call.
  4. When the therapist contacts you, you will be able to ask them more detailed questions that you may have (i.e. their counseling approach, personal information, payment options, etc.) and discuss your concerns to ensure that they are a good match for you. At this time, you may choose to set up an appointment time and location.
  5. Prior to and/or at your first appointment, you will be asked to complete some forms and such things as confidentiality will be explained. This session is the intake session, a session that the therapist may use to get to know you (and for you to get to know them) rather than resolving problems or necessarily "Feeling Better".
  6. Future sessions will focus more on how to proceed toward your goals, develop  new directions, heal from life’s pains, and discover ways that your life can be different.
  7. If you ever have any questions or concerns throughout any of the process, ask! We are happy to answer any questions that you may have...there are no “stupid” questions and there is no pressure to enter or continue with counseling at any time.
