Amy Basham

LPCC-S, LICDC

Amy holds a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She spent 4 years working in drug and alcohol treatment centers working with adults and obtained her Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor license at that time. She enjoys helping people struggling with addiction issues. She also feels a desire to educate family members on addiction, boundaries, and provide them with support during a challenging time. Amy has sought out extra trauma training, is trauma-informed, and has been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Amy gave birth to her daughter in June of 2023. She gained a lot of insight through her personal experiences with pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. She developed a burden to come alongside people who are experiencing/have experienced pregnancy, pregnancy loss, and fertility issues. She also feels passionate about helping people through birth experiences, the postpartum period, and supporting parents through the transition to parenthood.

Amy believes that the counseling relationship should be a safe space where a person can experience support, acceptance, and healing. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and Goldendoodle, Yogi. They also cherish their time with friends. She specializes in counseling adolescents and adults with Trauma and PTSD, Substance Abuse/Addiction Issues, Perinatal/Postpartum Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Women’s Issues, Spiritual Issues, Self Esteem and more.

As of September of 2024, Amy is currently in the process of getting her Perinatal Mental Health Certification and is beginning training classes for that specialty at this time.
