Lorien Parkinson

LPC

Lorien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Music Performance from The Ohio State University, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Her approach is rooted in a deep belief in the inherent worth of every person, and she works tirelessly to help clients discover their strengths, build resilience, and find healing. Lorien specializes in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. She is also a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator for couples. She brings an empathetic and evidence-based approach to therapy, using a combination of proven therapeutic modalities to guide her clients toward achieving emotional balance and well-being.

Lorien’s clinical expertise is enhanced by her ability to connect with clients on a personal level. She believes in fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel empowered to explore their emotions, challenges, and goals. By helping clients tap into their own inner resources and resilience, Lorien supports them in building the confidence and self-awareness needed to thrive.

Outside of her clinical work, Lorien enjoys activities such as hiking, running, crocheting, and caring for her (sometimes unruly!) plant collection. She and her husband are active members of Dwell Community Church, where she leads an urban high school Bible study and mentorship program. Her passion for personal growth extends beyond the therapy room, as she is deeply committed to helping others experience the transformative power of faith and healing.
